Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons and daughters of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission… (Catechism, 1213)
Because of original sin, we are born without grace in our souls, so there is no way for us to have fellowship with God. Jesus became man to bring us into union with his Father. He said no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is first born of “water and the Spirit” (John 3:5)
Through baptism we are born again, but this time on a spiritual level instead of a physical level. We are washed in the bath of rebirth (Titus 3:5). We are baptized into Christ’s death and therefore share in His Resurrection (Romans 6:3-7).

We welcome you and hope that this is a holy and happy experience for you and your entire family.
Having your child baptized is a responsibility not to be taken lightly. The Catholic Church has always taught that “Parents are the primary educators in the faith. Together with them, especially in certain cultures, all members of the family play an active part in the education of the younger members.” (General Directory for Catechesis, #255)
Our baptismal preparation is designed to assist you, the parents and your godparents, in raising your child in the Catholic Church.
