Religious Education Department.


We are seeking two people to fill full-time positions as Administrative Assistants for the Religious Education Department.
Responsibilities of the positions include:
· Assisting the Director of Religious Education with administrative duties
· One position will be responsible for VIRTUS Safe Environment coordination
· Both positions require candidates to assist with Parish School of Religion (PSR) classes and Life Teen activities
· Both positions require candidates to engage in outreach assistance to parents
· Both positions require candidates to assist with other administrative duties as assigned
· Both positions must be willing and able to work a somewhat irregular schedule (days, and evenings/weekends when classes are in session)
Qualifications: A Roman Catholic in good standing who understands and values the practices of the faith and our Church’s teachings. The candidate needs to have initiative and a strong work ethic and be able to collaborate with other parish staff, ministry volunteers and parishioners. Bilingual English-Spanish is a must. Must be available to work some nights and weekends. Reliable transportation and consistent attendance and timeliness is required. This is an onsite position only in Smyrna, Georgia. Tasks:
1. Assist with ordering and preparing materials for PSR classes
2. Assist with PSR classes on Sunday mornings and scheduled weekday evenings
3. Assisting RCIC Class Catechists when needed
4. Calling/emailing parents to follow up on missing paperwork for both PSR and Life Teen/EDGE
5. Assist w/Middle School, EDGE, and Life Teen programs
6. VIRTUS: Act as Virtus Coordinator for the parish; assigning classes to parishioners who need certification; maintain database of Virtus certification for all parishioners.
