God bless our National Day of Thanksgiving
The source of true gratitude is from God and His Son, Jesus Christ, who showed us how to be grateful through the power of the Holy Spirit by counting our blessings not only in the good times but in the very serious, challenging times that come our way. It was at the Last Supper when Jesus gathered with His disciples to institute the Eucharist (meal of Thanksgiving) which is the source and summit from which our worship of God flows. I never cease to be in awe of the fact that Jesus, knowing that he was to suffer a most horrible death the next day, was still able and willing to thank and bless His Father. After thanking and blessing His Father, Jesus took the bread and the wine and declared them to be His Body and Blood for our divine nourishment. So, too, I pray that we will celebrate as the United States of America a day of Thanksgiving making time to thank God and one another for blessings received. On my part as Pastor, I thank each and every one of our parish family for being a blessing to us. Let us be generous in our gratitude so that people feel affirmed and loved. A simple “Thank You” goes a long way to make our atmosphere more kind, congenial and enjoyable. Happy and Safe Thanksgiving! Join us for our outdoor bilingual multi-cultural Mass on Thanksgiving morning at 9:30 A.M. You will need to bring your own seating as well as dress accordingly. After all, the First Thanksgiving meal was outside. If rain, then indoors we will be! Enjoy!
Dios bendiga nuestro Día Nacional de Acción de Gracias
La fuente de la verdadera gratitud es de Dios y Su Hijo, Jesucristo, quien nos mostró cómo ser agradecidos a través del poder del Espíritu Santo contando nuestras bendiciones no solo en los buenos tiempos sino también en los tiempos de prueba y desafiantes que se nos presentan. Fue en la Última Cena cuando Jesús se reunió con Su discípulos a instituir la Eucaristía (comida de Acción de Gracias), que es la fuente y la cumbre de donde fluye nuestro culto a Dios. Nunca dejo de asombrarme por el hecho de que Jesús, sabiendo que iba a sufrir una muerte horrible al día siguiente, todavía podía y estaba dispuesto a agradecer y bendecir a su Padre. Después de agradecer y bendiciendo a Su Padre, Jesús tomó el pan y el vino y los declaró como Su Cuerpo y Sangre para nuestro alimento divino. Así también, oro para que celebremos como Estados Unidos de América un día de Acción de gracias haciendo tiempo para agradecer a Dios y a los demás por las bendiciones recibidas. De mi parte como párroco, agradezco a todos y cada uno de los miembros de nuestra familia parroquial por ser una bendición para nosotros. Seamos generosos en nuestro agradecimiento para que las personas se sientan amadas. Un simple “Gracias” contribuye en gran medida a hacer que nuestra atmósfera sea más amable y agradable. ¡Feliz y seguro día de acción de gracias! Únase a nosotros para nuestra Misa bilingüe y multicultural al aire libre en la mañana de Acción de Gracias a las 9:30 A.M. Deberá traer su propias sillas y vestirse en de acuerdo al clima de ese día. Después de todo, la primera comida de Acción de Gracias fue afuera. En caso de lluvia, ¡Celebraremos nuestra Misa adentro en la iglesia! ¡Disfrutar!
